Support Worker

About the Role:

  • This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Support Worker, where you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities.
  • You will be responsible for delivering person-centred care and support, ensuring the individual's physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with colleagues and other professionals to establish, maintain, and monitor standards of performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To manage risk in a systematic way that is embedded in a culture of safety, welfare, and quality of life for residents.
  2. Supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Difficulties, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
  3. Assisting with intimate care.
  4. Liaising appropriately with service users, their network of support, family members, and other professionals where applicable, to ensure consistent planning.
  5. Working in partnership with colleagues and management to establish, maintain, and monitor standards of performance for all aspects of the service, including the people we support in involvement and consultation.
  6. Facilitation and support of individual programmes of meaningful activities.
  7. Supporting the people we support with regular exercise and outdoor activities.

Requirements:

  • QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare (all 8 modules completed).
  • Working with individuals with intellectual disability/ASD is a distinct advantage.
  • Experience in delivering low-arousal approaches in a person-centred environment.

Contract:

Full Time

Shift, Day, Evening, Sleepovers, and Weekend work are requirements for this position.
