The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Pricing & Underwriting Team and contribute to our ambitious goals. As a Pricing Actuary, you'll play a key role in developing and implementing pricing strategies to drive business growth while maintaining profitability.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Makes pricing recommendations to ensure profitability, and effectively communicates these recommendations to the health business.
  • Ensures that Pricing processes (Rate Adequacy, APTP, Embedding, Rate Change Estimation) are robust and reviewed on a regular basis to ensure control of the account.
  • Ensures that the pricing structure is optimal at all levels (P1-P5 layers where available).
  • Ensures that AXA Ireland rating structure is based on robust technical models and regularly updated.
  • Subject to this ensures that the rating structure is optimised to reflect market dynamics and maximise GWP / profit.
  • Derives and shares profitability insights and analysis at regular account review meetings.
  • Built statistical models (GLMs etc) to help the business understand its performance and identify potential opportunities.
  • Reviews model performances and executes model rebuild and/or adjustments when required.
  • Ensures that Pricing tasks comply with Group Standards Handbook, Group Pricing Blueprints as appropriate.

Your Profile:
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in actuarial / pricing / data science related work.
  • Qualified Actuary with the Institute of Actuaries (or equivalent) or else display the skills required which may be obtained through other studies such as statistics, mathematics, or data science.
  • Good business knowledge of Health products (product features, rating structures, IT systems, market…)
  • Proven experience using R or Python and Machine Learning required.
  • Proficient in using code or analytical tools for modelling, visualization, data manipulation and processing.
  • Able to apply analytical problem solving, make recommendations, and implement improvements continuously in a dynamic environment.
  • Good understanding of GLMs, machine learning models and data science process (feature engineering, modelling etc.) required.
  • Autonomous, innovative, pragmatic, and able to apply known or new techniques.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Displays ownership and accountability for ensuring work is carried out to high standards.
  • Effectively contribute to team co-operation, trust & morale.
  • Continual professional development through networking, educational progress, and personal development.
  • Awareness of the overall compliance to Health & Safety, IT Security, and all legislation/compliance in the Pricing department.
