Electrical Engineering Leadership Role

This position plays a central role in shaping the future of our organization by leading the Electrical Engineering discipline across the Group, aligning with our strategy and local Business Unit plans.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the Electrical Engineering discipline to achieve strategic goals and objectives.
  • Support Business Units in strengthening and growing their departments through profiling, competency gap analysis, and training needs identification.
  • Identify targeted areas of expertise within Electrical Engineering, such as sustainability.
  • Collaborate with other Engineering Disciplines to develop cross-functional competencies targeted at key sectors and technologies.
  • Define design activities and deliverables required for projects to ensure safe and efficient delivery.
Digitalisation of Business Processes / Ways of Working
  • Develop strategies for continuous improvement of Electrical Engineering processes and procedures.
  • Enhance the Electrical Engineering Service Delivery Platform (SDP) as part of our Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Create a standardized way of working for Electrical Engineering across the Group, considering local codes and industry norms.
  • Ensure integration of key considerations, such as digitally enabled lean design DeLPD, sector-specific approaches, and design office locations.
Governance of Design Delivery
  • Support Sales Proposals as requested by the Director of Engineering.
  • Establish a 'watch list' of key projects based on design challenge and technical integrity risk.
  • Influence early stages of design on key projects.
  • Chair Single Discipline Design Reviews (SDDRs) on key projects.
  • Review Project Basis of Safety documents.
  • Input to end of Concept / BoD 'go, no go' reviews for high-risk challenging projects.
Troubleshooting
  • Respond to critical issues regarding Electrical Engineering design across the Group.
  • Met with senior members of our own and customer teams.
  • Agree corrective actions and way forward.
  • Act as Technical Sponsor for corrective actions.
  • Keep management updated on correction action progress.
