Job Summary:

The Environmental Sustainability Manager plays a pivotal role in accelerating BAM's transition to a more sustainable business model.

  • Drive the implementation of a comprehensive sustainability strategy, coordinating regional activities to achieve key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with project teams to support work winning, upskilling, and progress towards sustainability targets.
  • Ensure seamless execution of environmental compliance, adhering to industry standards and company procedures.

This is an opportunity to lead management reviews, driving continual improvement of associated procedures and plans. A deep understanding of ISO14001 compliance and assurance, as well as key environmental aspects, is essential for success.

The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of sector-specific reporting standards and key performance indicators. Experience with environmental certification/assessment tools (e.g., BREEAM, LEED, WELL, NABERs) is desirable.

As a subject matter expert, you will communicate complex technical information into clear direction for operational teams. Conduct awareness and training sessions across the value chain, promoting decarbonization, circular economy, climate adaptation, and biodiversity.

Regular data reviews will identify trends and improvement opportunities at site and regional levels. Collaboration with the ES team will define a cohesive way forward as BAM UK&I.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge of ISO14001 compliance and assurance
  • Expertise in environmental aspects and sector-specific reporting standards
  • Experience with environmental certification/assessment tools (e.g., BREEAM, LEED, WELL, NABERs)

A good working knowledge of key strategy aspects (decarbonisation, circular economy, climate adaptation, and biodiversity) applicable to this role is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, are required.
