IT Systems Administrator Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented System Administrator to join our team in Galway. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise across servers, networks, security, and cloud platforms.

The successful candidate will oversee the organisation's operation of Microsoft SharePoint and related 365 systems. Key responsibilities include:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers (Windows) and network infrastructure.
  • Monitoring system performance and ensuring the availability and reliability of IT services.
  • Maintaining system backups and data recovery procedures.
  • Managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Maintaining security through access controls, firewalls, and patch management.
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Supporting end users with technical issues, both remotely and onsite.
  • Implementing and documenting system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Assisting with IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and deployments.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar IT role.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS.
  • Admin experience on Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper-V).
  • Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Able to work onsite 2-3 days per week.
