Cyber Security Architect Role

The role of Cyber Security Architect involves leading the implementation of robust cybersecurity technologies and services across an organisation. In this position, you will be responsible for large-scale security projects, ensuring the effective deployment of cutting-edge solutions to safeguard critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Implement Cybersecurity Architectures: Develop and implement cybersecurity architectures that align with the organisation's operational needs and risk posture.
  • Lead Large-Scale Security Technology Deployments: Oversee the deployment of endpoint protection, cloud security, and other large-scale security technologies, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Develop Secure System Designs: Design and develop secure system designs that enhance resilience against cyber threats.
  • Provide Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise for selecting and implementing cybersecurity solutions, including managed detection and response services, extended detection and response solutions, and SIEM/SOC technologies.
  • Embed Security in Digital Transformation: Ensure that security is embedded in digital transformation projects, minimising risks from new technologies.
  • Collaborate with IT Teams: Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to establish best practices in cybersecurity architecture.
  • Conduct Security Assessments: Conduct security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Develop Security Guidelines: Develop security guidelines and technical standards to ensure consistent protection across systems.
  • Implement Network Security Measures: Implement network security measures, including segmentation and access controls.
  • Enhance Cloud Security Frameworks: Enhance cloud security frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead Incident Response Planning: Lead incident response planning and support, strengthening the organisation's ability to handle cyber threats.
  • Enhance Identity and Access Management Practices: Enhance identity and access management (IAM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) practices to protect data.
  • Drive Security Automation Initiatives: Drive security automation initiatives, improving efficiency in threat detection and response.
  • Advise on Secure Software Development Practices: Advise on secure software development practices, minimising vulnerabilities in applications.
  • Monitor Emerging Cybersecurity Technologies: Monitor and evaluate emerging cybersecurity technologies, recommending solutions for adoption.
  • Oversee Security Operations Improvements: Oversee security operations improvements, optimising monitoring, detection, and response capabilities.
  • Support Compliance with Regulatory Frameworks: Support compliance with regulatory frameworks, including NIS 2 and GDPR.
  • Strengthen Security Awareness and Training Programmes: Strengthen security awareness and training programmes to improve staff knowledge of best practices.
