Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Graduate Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist to join our team in Belfast.

The successful candidate will work on a range of projects involving ground investigation, design, and construction supervision for ground engineering works. This role presents an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to develop their skills and knowledge in geotechnics and contribute to high-profile infrastructure projects.

As part of our Ground Engineering UK & Ireland team, you will have access to cutting-edge digital software and collaborate with experienced professionals to deliver innovative solutions. You will be responsible for conducting desk studies, site inspections, rockface surveys, and geomorphological mapping, as well as contributing to the design, planning, and procurement of ground investigations.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology/Geology, with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent) or above. An MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics, Geotechnical Engineering, or Engineering Geology would be advantageous. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are also essential for success in this role.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or related field
  • Strong understanding of geotechnics principles and practices
  • Experience with digital soil mechanics and analysis software (e.g., Leapfrog)
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills
