
Expert Claims Technician Wanted

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Claims Technical professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation and execution of material damage processes and programs.
- Establishing Material Damage Standards: Develop and maintain comprehensive standards for material damage appraisal, ensuring consistency and accuracy in claims evaluation.
- Providing Oversight: Monitor and ensure that material damage evaluations are performed to a high standard, adhering to industry best practices and company guidelines.
- Claim Settlement Costs: Calculate claim settlement costs and agree vehicle valuations on total loss cases, taking into account various factors such as market values, repair costs, and other relevant considerations.
- Physical Inspections: Refer vehicles for physical inspections where required, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate efficient and effective claims resolution.
- Court Attendance: Represent the company in court proceedings as needed, providing expert testimony and supporting the litigation process.
The Claims Technical Controller will also be responsible for:
- Establishing Protocols: Develop and implement protocols for monitoring technical standards and material damage guidelines, ensuring consistency and compliance with industry standards and local market practice.
- Strategy Coordination: Collaborate with Country/Regional Managers and other stakeholders to develop and implement overall MD strategy, driving business growth and improvement.
- Competitive Pricing: Determine and monitor prevailing competitive price, including incidental charges, to ensure fair and reasonable claims settlements.
- Compliance and Best Practices: Maintain current knowledge of compliance requirements and ensure that adjusting/file handling teams and TPAs are fully engaged in awareness and adoption of best practices and compliance standards.
Key qualifications and skills for this position include:
- Motor Engineering Qualification: Hold a recognized qualification in motor engineering, such as an HNC or HND in Motor Vehicle Technology.
- IAEA Membership: Possess full membership to IAEA or be working towards membership, demonstrating expertise and commitment to industry standards.
- Experience in Motor Assessing/Claims Handling: Proven experience in motor assessing and claims handling, with a strong understanding of primary estimating skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Estimating Skills: Possess strong primary estimating skills, including but not limited to Audatex estimating, damage photography analysis, overlap, included operations, cycle time, repair methods, etc.
- Fraud Awareness: Demonstrate a strong understanding of fraud awareness and ability to recognize red flags, supporting the prevention of fraudulent activities.
- Vehicle Damage Estimation: Possess the ability to write accurate and comprehensive vehicle damage estimates for collision damage, fires, thefts, floods, complex losses, and total loss claims.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify mechanical problems from accident-related problems and differentiate between alternative solutions and conclusions.
- Vehicle Construction Trends: Maintain current knowledge of vehicle construction trends, including advanced metals, electronics, refinishes, SRS, options, etc.
- Resources Knowledge: Possess knowledge of resources for recalls and safety bulletins, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Salvage Processes: Understand salvage processes, categorization, and Department of Transport regulatory requirements, supporting efficient and effective claims resolution.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrate experience in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally, showcasing excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Customer Service and Complaint Resolution: Possess strong customer service and complaint resolution skills, supporting the delivery of exceptional customer experiences.
- Systems and Program Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with experience in using systems and programs to support business functions.
