Job Description:

The Training Consultant will collaborate with team members to develop training solutions for assigned business units. They will work under general direction to assist in defining learning objectives that support functional requirements.

Key responsibilities include working with management, business process consultants, and subject matter experts to understand desired business outcomes and translate them into learning objectives.

They will also determine appropriate learning methodologies and functional training solutions, handle various analyses, and develop project plans including identifying subject matter experts where necessary.

The Training Consultant will design, develop, facilitate, and deliver learning programs, evaluate training development programs for effectiveness, and make recommendations for improvements.

Additionally, they will maintain an inventory of training development programs/tools and schedules, their use according to management priorities.

They are expected to deliver a work product that requires minimal revision, serve as a key subject matter expert in program design, and mentor more junior staff.

Acting as a product and marketing manager for training programs, they are responsible for multiple projects of varying complexities and represent the COO Training team in various meetings.

Training Criteria:

  • Design, develop, and maintain a training curriculum for the Market Operations function that can be implemented and delivered regardless of geographic location.
  • Coordinate and deliver the new hire curriculum within relevant geographic locations.
  • Design and deliver both self-paced and instructor-led training for existing systems and new system roll-outs.
  • Ensure COO Training learning and development interventions align with business unit and/or enterprise-wide needs.
  • Consult with Market Operations management to provide ongoing support on training needs and business unit initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

An experienced funds industry operations professional willing to develop consulting, writing, and presenting skills, or an experienced training professional willing to quickly learn all aspects of the Market Operations business.

Previous training consulting experience is required, along with knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.

Ability to analyze and assess learning outcomes, work with all levels of staff, be a self-starter and team player, and willingness and ability to give and receive candid feedback.
