Electrical Engineer Role

We are seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role will involve working on various stages of projects, including electrical design reviews, panel schematic validation, and procurement of materials and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct electrical design reviews to identify design gaps and deviations in specifications.
  • Validate panel schematics and cable sizing, making recommendations as necessary.
  • Assist in researching suppliers and selecting plant & equipment that meets project design specifications.
  • Create and manage submittals through the approvals process.
  • Track procurement and delivery of electrical equipment and complete receipt verification process.
  • Update and record progress on system trackers aligned with construction schedule.
  • Review electrical installations with BIM team to ensure design is constructible.
  • Assist with snag & variations management by flagging issues on site and raising with relevant person.
  • Prepare project schedules, material take offs, and out to market / supplier schedules.
  • Assist with procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
  • Prepare project programs using MS Project.
  • Seek clarification on queries with design team through RFI system.
  • Attend technical meetings with design team, contractors, and project team.
  • Carry out document control, recording & transmitting information.
  • Assist in preparation of method statements and risk assessments for production activities.
  • Carry out Quality Control through inspections and snagging.
  • Prepare test packs for recording completion of systems.
  • Create and manage commissioning schedules plus assist with commissioning of all systems installed.
  • Evaluate all latest building and electrical design standards and regulations.
  • Liaise with design team & supply chain to ensure correct operation of plant on site & successful handover.
  • Creation of installed drawings and assist in creation of project O&M manuals.
  • Capable of walking down electrical systems to ensure compliance with specification.
  • Prepare construction / in-house design and as-built drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Prepare wiring schematics for electrical services such as fire alarm, nurse call, intruder alarm, door access, emergency lighting.
  • Carry out lighting design calculations.
  • Carry out / review cable and cable containment sizing calculations.
  • Assist with preparation of technical documentation for issue of sub-contractor work packages.

Requirements:

  • 3rd level Qualification in Electrical Engineering/Building Services Engineering.
  • Detailed understanding of HV and MV network requirements in industrial settings.
  • Experience with energy management systems and integration of automated control systems to electrical networks.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Detailed understanding of all electrical rules and regulations with particular knowledge of IS3217, IS3218 and IS10101 being a preference.
  • Excellent communicator/strong interpersonal skills/communicates with impact.
  • Excellent record keeper and administration skills.
  • Solves problems analytically and acts decisively.
  • Is process driven and focuses on EHS and Quality Work Management Systems and Processes.
