Senior Instructor, Tralee Day Services (37.5 hours per week)
This is a Permanent Part-Time contract role via Kerry Parents & Friends Association. The location is Tralee Day Services with a roster of Mon - Fri, 09:00 – 17:00.
Key Responsibilities- Enable individuals to realise their goals and achieve identified priorities.
- Provide support and advocacy for participation and inclusion in the Community on behalf of the person we support.
- Operate within a person-centred framework and promote cooperation and partnership with other services, including families.
- Complete all relevant reports and training; implement New Directions in line with National standards for day services.
- Provide physical support which may include personal care, emotional support for individuals and their families, and support for health care needs; work with other healthcare providers to ensure high standards of care.
- A relevant third-level qualification (minimum Level 7 Degree).
- A minimum of three years' experience supporting adults with an intellectual disability post-qualification.
- A commitment to promoting and empowering those you support.
- A strong understanding of New Directions, the Disability Act 2005, Health & Safety legislation, GDPR/Data Protection compliance.
- Excellent IT, verbal and written communication skills to engage with individuals, colleagues, managers, and senior team members.
- The ability to document and report accurately and professionally.
- The ability to plan, coordinate, and document daily activities and individualised care plans; maintain accurate digital records in compliance with GDPR.
- Strong time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities.
- Rights-based and person-centred approaches to support and advocacy.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland; provide supporting documentation during recruitment.
- A full driving licence with access to a road-worthy car insured for business purposes; willing to drive vehicles.
- A panel may be formed to fill future vacancies at Tralee Day Services up to December 2025.
- Evidence of relevant employment experience must be detailed in your application form and CV; incomplete documentation may lead to placement at the starting scale point.
- No canvassing of staff or interviewers; any canvassing will result in disqualification.
- Roles are also available on a relief basis.
