The position of Support Worker offers a unique chance to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals in need.
Located at Killarney Day Services, this role provides a supportive environment for individuals with intellectual disabilities, empowering them to achieve their personal and social goals.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with internal and external services, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care and effective communication.
Accurate record-keeping and documentation are essential, as is providing physical, emotional, psychological, and healthcare support with emphasis on dignity and autonomy.
Facilitating life skills development through hobbies, interests, and activities is also crucial, promoting greater independence and self-sufficiency.
A dynamic and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting others will thrive in this role, contributing to a person-centred framework that prioritises choices and collaboration.
Maintenance of accurate digital records and completion of reports in compliance with GDPR are essential aspects of this position, requiring strong time management skills and attention to detail.
Required Skills and Qualifications- QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support (or equivalent) with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience working with adults with an intellectual disability.
- Passion for promoting and empowering those supported.
- Strong understanding of New Directions, Disability Act 2005, Health & Safety legislation, GDPR, and Data Protection compliance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with individuals, families, colleagues, managers, and senior staff.
