Job Description:

Special needs assistants provide essential support to vulnerable adults and children, helping them maintain their independence in their own homes. This role requires the ability to work closely with service users, families, and healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily living assistance, including personal care and companionship to enable service users to live independently.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of service user-centered care plans.
  • Ensure all interactions are conducted with dignity and respect, escalating any concerns to area care supervisors immediately.
Minimum Requirements:
  • QQI Level award in Special Needs Assistant or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for delivering high-quality care.
  • Display strong attention to detail, ensuring all services required are provided, and being aware of unusual situations that may indicate additional support is needed.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and their relatives in a professional manner.
  • Uphold confidentiality and honesty at all times, recognizing the significance of these values in client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
