Child and Family Support Worker

This role requires a passionate and dedicated individual to provide relief support to children, young people, and mothers impacted by domestic violence in refuge and community outreach settings.

The primary purpose of the role is to collaborate with the Child and Youth Services Team, delivering care to children, young people, and mothers affected by domestic violence.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Supporting children, young people, and mothers in refuge, ensuring they are familiarized with the conditions of stay, available services, and activities.
  • Assisting families during their transition to/from refuge, guaranteeing they have everything necessary for a smooth settlement into their new environment.
  • Supporting tailored care plan objectives developed by the family and Child and Youth Keyworker, ensuring each child receives the required support to reach their full potential.
  • Making referrals to statutory, community, and therapeutic supports in the absence of CYK to meet the goals of the care plan.
  • Communicating with each child and young person's support network in the absence of CYK, ensuring a collaborative approach to progress the care plan.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

A third-level qualification at degree level in Social Care, Early Childhood Studies, or Community/Family Development is essential.
