The Role
Establish a fully integrated risk and compliance function within the Irish branch, ensuring effective oversight of all regulatory obligations under Irish and European law.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the designated Head of Compliance for the Irish branch, maintaining effective oversight of all regulatory obligations.
- Own and maintain the Compliance Framework, including regulatory inventory, compliance risk assessments, monitoring plans, policies and procedures, breach registers and issue management.
- Lead the annual compliance monitoring plan, oversee execution and present findings, trends and remediation to senior management.
- Advise business and functional teams on compliance requirements for new products, services, operational models and material changes.
- Act as primary contact point for regulatory compliance matters with the Central Bank of Ireland, coordinating responses to information requests, PRISM engagements, inspections and thematic reviews.
- Identify, assess, manage and monitor all material risks – including operational, conduct, market, credit and outsourcing – within the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERM).
- Maintain and update the branch's Risk Appetite Statement, risk register and associated Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), ensuring alignment with Group risk strategy and regulatory expectations.
- Deliver regular risk MI, dashboards and thematic analysis to senior leadership. Escalate emerging risks and issues promptly.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in regulatory compliance and/or enterprise risk management within regulated financial institutions.
- Prior experience in a PCF/SMF or senior second-line leadership role with regulatory accountability.
- Deep knowledge of the CBI's Fitness & Probity regime, risk management guidelines and regulatory compliance expectations.
- Strong understanding of Irish and European regulations relevant to the firm's activities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage independent relationships with regulatory authorities.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to operate effectively at senior level.
