Job Title:

Flight Operations Manager

Location: Dublin, Ireland

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Flight Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for the management and delivery of our crewing operations on a 24/7 basis.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in achieving our on-time performance targets by managing crew resources on published rosters, prioritising safety and on-time performance in all decisions.

Key responsibilities include managing crew resources on published rosters, dealing with flight schedule disruptions, confirming adequate crew allocations on each operation, and booking crew logistics such as hotels and transportation.

You will also be responsible for cost efficiencies by ensuring all crewing resources are deployed in the most cost-effective and productive way.

In addition, you will maintain overall roster stability and efficiency by collaborating closely with colleagues, managing changes to the published roster, and minimising the impact of irregular operations on all aspects of crewing.

Develop and deliver operational contingency plans to manage disruption over both short and extended periods.

Provide expert advice on best practice crewing operations in line with regulatory requirements.

Manage crew logistic requirements including hotel accommodation, allowances, deadheading tickets, and ground transportation for crew involved in the operation of the schedule.

Manage crew block hours and duty hours, ensuring records are accurately maintained in full compliance with approved Flight Time Limitations Scheme.

You will have excellent people skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and be able to contribute effectively as part of a team.

The successful candidate will also have experience/qualifications in the following areas:

  • Proven ability to manage complex and unpredictable situations while working within a pressurised environment
  • A calm, organised pro-active approach to the job is required
  • Full knowledge of or the ability to gain such knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements, roster policies, and crew agreements
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to contribute effectively as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively with management and staff at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to assess problems and make clear-cut and evaluated decisions quickly, in order to minimise disruption
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
  • High level of commitment and flexibility
  • Excellent punctuality and attendance record
  • Ability to work with computer applications
  • Resilience with the ability to use own initiative
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU
  • Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport
  • Able to pass a 5-year security background check (or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in)
