
Electrical and Instrumentation Construction Lead

**Electrical and Instrumentation Construction Lead Position**
The successful candidate will be a senior member of our construction team, responsible for the proper and timely execution of electrical and instrumentation scope in accordance with company safety and quality standards.
Main Responsibilities:- Detailed review and liaison with design teams to ensure constructability and feasibility of projects
- Prepare and lead constructability reviews to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies
- Prepare detailed scopes of work for trade contract procurement
- Assist in preparation of detailed bills of quantities
- Review returned bids and prepare tender brief answers
- Trade and industry knowledge reviews to stay abreast of developments in the construction industry
- Development of detailed execution strategies to meet project timelines and budgets
- Input into construction health and safety plans, quality assurance, and technical documents
- Assist in schedule development and reviews, and lead integrated action plans
- Ensuring that construction phases of projects are adequately resourced with capable personnel, plant, tools, temporary facilities, and other necessary resources
- Subcontract management including safety, schedule, cost, and quality as primary deliverables
- Developing best-in-class site execution procedures as guidance to field supervisors
- Engaging with design, commissioning, and client teams throughout the project to ensure system turnovers meet scheduled milestones
- Compliance with company construction methods, procedures, and practices in all respects, particularly those related to safety, quality assurance, personnel, and industrial relations
- Observance of applicable statutory and other legal requirements
- Understanding implications of Health and Safety at Work Act and Regulations on employee responsibilities
- Staying up-to-date with industry developments and assisting in ensuring company capabilities continue to develop and excel
- Ensuring projects are constructed to drawings, specifications, applicable standards, good construction practices, schedules, and budget
- Directing and controlling activities of assigned staff and their functions
- Carrying out assessments and appraisals of contractor works and reporting results according to company practice
- Ensuring company utilization of best technology available and encouraging innovative ideas
- Recording and sharing lessons learned on projects
- Reviewing contractor progress reports and providing input to weekly construction report-outs to clients
- Managing construction works from pre-construction to system turnover
- Adhering to quality plan criteria
- Determining needs for supervisor training for proper execution of projects under construction and making recommendations accordingly
- Adhering to company policies for employment of labor and ensuring matters concerning labor relations are dealt with according to labor agreements
- Supervising and managing site E&I staff including construction superintendents, trade supervisors, and subcontractors
- Degree qualified in electrical and instrumentation engineering or similar
- Significant years of experience in a similar role
- Biotech/pharma knowledge
- Excellent multi-disciplinary knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
