Job Overview

We are seeking talented individuals to serve a four-year Solas HGV Mechanic Apprenticeship at our Headquarters site in Dunboyne, Co. Meath. This opportunity will provide hands-on training and supervision in various areas of heavy goods vehicle maintenance and repair.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems
  • Support servicing and repairs on fleet vehicles
  • Help diagnose issues and carry out basic repairs on machinery such as loading shovels, HGV trucks, front-end loaders, and forklifts
  • Gain experience in servicing brake systems, diesel fuel systems, and steering mechanisms
  • Shadow senior technicians to develop skills in machinery inspection and routine servicing
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 passes in Junior Cert Certificate
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning and organisation skills
  • Previous experience in welding/fabrication an advantage
