Job Title: Studio Vision Mixer

Virgin Media is seeking a skilled and experienced Vision Mixer to join our Broadcast Operations team. The successful candidate will work as part of this team, bringing some of Virgin Media's flagship programming to air.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operation of vision mixing consoles for live and pre-recorded programming.
  2. Seamless switching between multiple video sources such as camera, VT's, and incoming external feeds.
  3. Use of transitions such as wipes and flying keys.
  4. Creation of mixed effects including picture-in-picture effects, split screens, and chroma keying.
  5. Responsible for in-programme graphic overlay using in-depth knowledge of downstream keying principles.
  6. Work effectively and collaboratively within a fully multi-disciplined Broadcast Operations team.
  7. Work as directed during productions.
  8. Ensure there are no issues with studio sources and incoming feeds by proactive monitoring.

Requirements:

  • High proficiency in a broadcast control room environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of broadcast television principles.
  • Knowledge of television production processes and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and plan recovery during unexpected issues.
  • Attention to detail and quality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal stakeholders across content genres.
