Head Soccer Coach Position

The district and community require a comprehensive sports program to meet their needs and interests. This position organizes, coordinates, and promotes this program.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Instruct students and manage their behavior in a coaching environment.
  • Utilize strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to lead the team.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to ensure a successful coaching experience with consideration for student safety and well-being.
  • Hold a Coaching Principles Certificate (NFHS or ASEP) and maintain current certification.
  • Possess Sports First Aid Health & Safety for Coaches Certificate (ASEP or PREPARE).
  • Complete coaches' portion of NFHS Sportsmanship Course and annual CPR certification with AED Training.
  • Familiarize yourself with sport-specific knowledge and curriculum instruction to enhance teaching methods.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Develop instructional plans using various techniques and media to improve student athlete growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
  • Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions effectively.
  • Collaborate with school staff to plan and implement instructional goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate student athlete performance and establish criteria for competition in accordance with AHSAA rules and regulations.
  • Ensure student athlete safety and equipment security at all times.
  • Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation as per district policies.
  • Coordinate competitions and athletic events with the Athletic Director while maintaining awareness of NCAA academic requirements and recruiting practices.
  • Develop and evaluate coaching programs for continuous improvement and strive to achieve excellence.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A minimum of three to five years of coaching experience is required for this position.
