Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Job Description:

The role of a Maintenance Engineer is to provide technical support to the production team and ensure the smooth operation of equipment and processes. This involves mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting electrical faults.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance of mechanical equipment, including high speed packing, automation, electro/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic systems and facilities maintenance.
  • Identification and execution of preventative maintenance outside formal maintenance programs.
  • Technical support for production lines and their supporting processes.
  • Minimization of production downtime through efficient use of available materials and knowledge.
  • Collaboration with other Maintenance operatives in a team environment.
  • Setup and changeover of machines for different products.
  • General facility maintenance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, applicants should possess:

  • Strong, wide-ranging mechanical skills or fitter skills, mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read mechanical schematic drawings.
  • Knowledge of multi-meter usage and troubleshooting electrical faults.
  • Good understanding of automation and automated environments, comfortable with modern equipment control interfaces.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food sector.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work within a team but also autonomously.
  • Automation literacy, comfortable with modern equipment control interfaces.
  • Highly motivated with proven ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good team player and self-motivated.
