Occupational Health and Safety Professional Required

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) professional to join our team. As an OHS advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of employees and stakeholders across various workplaces in the Galway region.

About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for a motivated and experienced OHS professional to make a real difference in the lives of others. The successful candidate will conduct site visits, review risk processes, develop and review risk assessments, and assist in report writing.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Conduct weekly site visits to various workplaces across the specified region to monitor health and safety compliance.
  2. Manage documentation related to health and safety policies, procedures, and training records.
  3. Review existing risk processes and identify areas for improvement.
  4. Develop and review risk assessments and method statements to ensure they are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  5. Assist in collating and preparing monthly reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) on health and safety metrics.
  6. Provide regular reports on output and relevant information to stakeholders.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A relevant third-level qualification in occupational health and safety or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in a similar position.
  • Previous experience working on utilities projects is essential.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office packages and SharePoint.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
