Reliability Engineering Specialist

Lilly is seeking a highly skilled Principal Instrumentation Engineer to join our team in Limerick, Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise on electrical and instrumentation issues during start-up and normal operations.
The Principal Engineer will own and be responsible for all aspects of the instrumentation equipment installed on site, including working on RCAi, safety/quality deviations, equipment upgrades, obsolescence, project support, and MTBF. They will also review current instrument equipment performance to prevent potential reliability issues and implement reliability monitoring programs to ensure maximum availability of equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a Level 8 Degree in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent and 5+ years of experience in a maintenance/engineering role, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry. They should possess excellent organizational skills, be able to make good use of systems, procedures, and processes, and have a strong understanding of relevant EU directives and national/international engineering standards.
The successful candidate will work closely with health and regulatory authorities, initiate and roll out new site calibration strategies, provide engineering support to both maintenance and equipment owners, and participate in HSE and Quality observation/deviations write-ups. They will also lead reliability improvements to identify equipment obsolescence in advance, support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to site specifications.
