About the Role

The Government Relations Specialist will play a pivotal role in managing government relations, public affairs, and regulatory matters on behalf of Horse Sport Ireland.

This position requires a proactive and strategic individual capable of developing policy submissions, executing advocacy campaigns, and liaising effectively with elected representatives and government departments.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with government departments, agencies, and elected representatives at local, national, and EU levels.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting the equestrian sector and provide timely updates to Horse Sport Ireland.
  • Act as the Organisation's representative at policy meetings, public consultations, and relevant industry forums.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive submissions, position papers, and responses to consultations on behalf of the Federation.
  • Prepare high-quality submissions, responses, and position papers to government departments and regulatory bodies on issues relevant to the equestrian community.
  • Lead the coordination and execution of advocacy campaigns to advance the Organisation's objectives.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience in public affairs, government relations, or a similar advocacy role.
  • Excellent understanding of the parliamentary system/obligations as a funded body.
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting policy submissions, reports, and position papers.
