Job Title: Toolmaker

We are seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join our team at CareerWise Recruitment in Cork, Ireland. This is a key role within the Automation Department, and the successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality tooling and performing daily machine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and verify SolidWorks drawings, sketches or specifications to fabricate machined parts or assemblies.
  • Work with customers within the automation department and production to optimize design and manufacture of parts or modifications to existing parts.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications and quality requirements.
  • Proficiency in operation of CNC Milling machine, EDM Wiring Erosion Machine, surface grinders, lathes and other conventional machine tools.
  • Prepare parts for anodizing.
  • Assist the designer in the assembly of machine parts to verify fit and function.
  • Perform mechanical assembly during machine build within the automation team.
  • Responsible for daily machinery maintenance within the toolroom.

Requirements:

  • Level 6 Advanced Cert in Craft & Toolmaking
  • At least 3-5 years' experience as a Toolmaker.
  • Competent in 3D CAM software (Auto Desk Fusion) and CNC machinery.
  • Experience in interpreting technical drawings is essential.
  • Experience in a medical device manufacturing environment desirable.
  • Excellent Interpersonal, communication skills both written and oral.
  • Excellent PC Skills Experience and good understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).
  • Ability to work on own initiative; highly motivated.
