Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join our team as a Career Development Manager. This role provides an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in a fast-paced retail environment.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the management team in all aspects of the operation of the store, while gaining detailed experience in individual departments throughout the store.

  • Actively embody Centra brand values, i.e., Proud, Energetic, Imaginative, and Community-Based
  • Set, monitor, and achieve sales targets with the team on gross profit margin, net margin, waste, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) agreed with the Store Manager
  • Participate actively in all training and development initiatives, and performance assessments
  • Maintain the entire store to the highest standard at all times, in accordance with relevant store planograms and guidelines
  • Implement planograms correctly and ensure the correct range is in place in store
  • Gain competence with all aspects of supply procedures - ordering, delivery procedures, stock rotation, and control procedures
  • Manage assigned departments effectively
  • Engage with new initiatives and adopt new ways of working
Key Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in the retail industry
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Experience balancing cash/tills is desirable
  • Experience with fresh food
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective delegation skills
  • A strong work ethic and high drive
  • Commercial awareness and brand understanding
  • PASSION FOR GROCERY RETAIL
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment
