We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Telecoms Service & Deployment (TSD-Central Team) in ESB Networks Athlone. The successful candidate will play a key role in the deployment, operation, maintenance, and future growth of ESB's national telecommunications network.

Responsibilities:

  • Deployment and integration of new communications infrastructure into the ESB telecoms network.\
  • Support and maintenance of a wide variety of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure in ESB locations.\
  • Prioritisation of faults and urgent tasks, ensuring tasks are updated and completed in a safe and timely manner.\
  • Coordination and management of third-party contractors and equipment partners.\
  • Support and maintain DC and backup power systems.\
  • Implement and support SCADA and Protection systems used to control the electricity network.\
  • Proactive participation in a strong safety, quality, and high-performance team culture.\
  • Support for telecommunications projects in ESB Networks, ESB Group and EirGrid.\
  • Communication with various Networks Telecoms stakeholders in a professional manner.\
  • Participation in training and development activities within the team or the wider Networks Telecoms business.\
  • Availability on-call or as required by the role.\

  • A 3rd Level qualification in an electrical/telecommunications/IT discipline or equivalent work experience from a trade background.\

  • Adaptability and flexibility.\
  • A full driving license, with travel being a feature of the role.\
