Senior Operations Manager Role

This is a senior team role responsible for the day-to-day operation of a store, coaching and managing a team to deliver excellent customer service, availability, and a positive lasting impression.


About the Role

The Senior Manager will support the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the store. This includes leading communication in the store, creating an environment of two-way communication, and understanding key performance indicators to lead the team to deliver targets.

  • Managing the day-to-day operation of the store, coaching and mentoring the team to deliver exceptional service, availability, and a positive lasting impression.
  • Taking full accountability for the store when the Store Manager is not present.
  • Being the go-to person for all colleagues for their day-to-day queries in the absence of their Line Manager.
  • Leading communication in the store and creating an environment of open dialogue.
  • Understanding key performance indicators for the store and leading the team to achieve goals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coaching and mentoring colleagues to enable them to deliver daily priorities and be in the right place at the right time to meet customer needs.
  • Reviewing reports and systems to enable you to deliver improvements that benefit customers and colleagues.
  • A role model for colleagues, embodying company values.
  • Leading replenishment teams to deliver improved availability, merchandising, and shelf-edge standards.
  • Creating a motivating and welcoming working environment for customers and colleagues.
Requirements:
  • Previous retail management experience required.
  • A passion for working with people and delivering excellent customer service.
  • The ability to lead and manage high-performing teams.
  • To be adaptable and flexible in your approach to make decisions and handle change.
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to resolve complex issues in creative ways.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
