Job Title: Waste Management Specialist

Safety is our top priority. We require a trained individual to work safely and effectively, ensuring a secure work environment for all team members on site.

The role involves overseeing the movement of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste on site, ensuring accurate and compliant waste movements with proper materials and paperwork. You will be the main point of contact for all waste movements.

We expect you to ensure correct signage and identification at storage locations and manage the proper storage of waste materials. You will handle the organization and preparation of empty receptacles and ensure waste materials are ready for safe transport.

You will maintain complete and accurate waste registration, ensuring compliance with legal and customer requirements.

Meetings and audits are crucial aspects of this role. You will attend monthly operations and waste-related meetings, participate in site audits, and provide necessary support and information. You will advise customers on waste handling procedures and provide training when required. Ensure that inductions, permits, and method statements are signed off for each job.

Audit paperwork regularly, stay updated with SOPs on customer systems, conduct haulier audits, and monitor vendors to ensure their approval.

  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification is required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in waste management or relevant sectors such as Pharma, Production, or Petro-Chemical industries is desired.
  • Experience or knowledge in chemical handling is beneficial.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with MS Office, is required.
  • Strong team player is a must.
  • Forklift license is an advantage.
  • Knowledge in areas like DGSA, ADR, or IMDG is beneficial.
