Job Title: Electrical Engineering Director

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as a Technical Director of Electrical Engineering. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive business growth, improve processes, and ensure high-quality project delivery.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Electrical Engineering Strategy:
    • Develop a comprehensive strategy for Electrical Engineering across the organization, focusing on forecasting, planning, and capability development.
    • Support business units in strengthening their electrical engineering departments and growing their capabilities.
    • Identify targeted areas for improvement, such as sustainability, and develop initiatives to address these areas.
    • Align and develop cross-functional competencies to support key sectors and technologies.
    • Define design activities and deliverables required to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
  • Digitalization and Process Improvement:
    • Develop and implement a strategy for continuous improvement of Electrical Engineering processes, leveraging digital tools and technologies.
    • Improve the Electrical Engineering Service Delivery Platform as part of our Quality Management System.
    • Create a standardized way of working for Electrical Engineering across the organization.
    • Ensure integration of key considerations, such as digitally enabled lean design.
    • Manage business transformation projects to drive organizational change.
  • Governance and Design Delivery:
    • Support sales proposals by providing technical expertise and guidance.
    • Establish a watch list of key projects based on design challenge and technical integrity risk.
    • Influence early stages of design on key projects.
    • Chair Single Discipline Design Reviews on key projects.
    • Review Project Basis of Safety documents.
    • Input to end-of-concept/Board reviews for high-risk challenging projects.
  • Troubleshooting and Technical Support:
    • Provide technical leadership and support for critical issues related to Electrical Engineering design.
    • Meet with senior members of both our own and the customer's teams.
    • Agree corrective actions and way forward.
    • Act as technical sponsor for corrective actions.
    • Keep management updated on correction action progress.
    Qualifications:
    • Possess a passion for Electrical Engineering and a focus on safety.
    • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
    • Have at least 15 years of relevant industry experience, with at least 10 years at a senior management level.
    • Have good working knowledge of Pharma, Med Tech, and Data Center industries.
    • Be a member of a recognized Engineering professional body.
    • Display strong technical, commercial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Show ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Have good communication and people skills.
    • Be a self-starter and decision maker.
    • Be fluent in English.
