Summer Internship in Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineering students, this is a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in our dynamic work environment. Our summer placement programme offers a stimulating project-based approach to learning and development.
You will be working alongside experienced engineers on live projects in Ireland, the UK and Mainland Europe. This exposure will equip you with valuable skills in areas such as chilled water systems, ventilation, BMS, refrigeration and sprinkler systems.
The placement is typically three months long, commencing in June and concluding in August. You can expect a structured schedule with regular meetings and progress reviews.
- Assist with report preparation, front-end studies, capital cost estimates, project schedules and material take-offs.
- Analyse returned tenders and prepare technical contract documentation for issue.
- Update delivery schedules to control deliveries and maintain accurate records.
- Clarify queries through the request for information (RFI) system and collaborate with the Design team.
- Prepare programmes using MS Project software.
- Monitor project progress and issue regular reports.
- Develop look-ahead programmes to assist production teams.
- Prepare method statements and risk assessments for production activities.
- Record completion of systems via test packs.
- Carry out Quality Control inspections and snagging.
- Document control, recording and transmission of information.
- Contribute to financial control of contracts during the construction stage.
