The Itinerant Speech Language Pathologist will provide services to support the instructional program at various schools. This role requires a professional who can identify students with communication disabilities and plan appropriate treatment plans.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Identify students with communication disabilities.
- Plan and implement effective treatment plans to minimize adverse impact on student success.
- Recommend treatment plans and provide direction to school staff.
- Create a speech/language program and classroom environment favorable to learning and personal growth.
- Establish effective rapport with students.
- Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed for a good educational foundation.
- Utilize technology to motivate students and prepare them for 21st-century learning.
- Participate in school-related activities that enhance teacher, student, parent, and community relations.
- Analyze different data sources in making data-driven decisions for instruction.
- Establish a positive relationship with students, parents, co-workers, volunteers, and other visitors.
- Evaluate students to determine eligibility for services under Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
- Use current technology for instruction and management purposes.
Required Skills, Knowledge And Abilities
- Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to the services and education of children with disabilities.
- Knowledge of pediatric and adolescent development (cognitive and physical) and medical and psychological diagnostic instruments.
- Ability to compile and analyze data, interpret laws, policies, and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Effective oral and written communication.
