The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, building, and testing systems and products based on optic, photonic, and laser technologies. They will interact with device, hardware, and software design teams to assist in the overall development of optical systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Specify, select, and qualify active and passive optical components.
- Assist in developing and benchmarking system performance models.
- Implement test procedures and/or evaluate and select appropriate test instrumentation.
Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. Seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of their speciality. Works on problems of a diverse scope. Receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instruction on new assignments.
Required Qualifications/Skills:- Bachelor's degree from a reputable university and 5 to 8 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Understanding of various scripting languages is strongly desired.
- Certification such as CCNA, JNCIA, RHCT, or equivalent experience.
The successful candidate must have the ability to lift/move 30-40 lbs. Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing. Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment. Must be able to use a computer. Must have the ability to communicate effectively.
