Environmental Sustainability and Health Specialist Role

This key position plays a pivotal role in ensuring that operations align with the highest standards of environmental sustainability, health, and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Compliance and Regulatory Management: Monitor and ensure adherence to all relevant environmental and health and safety regulations.
  2. Sustainability Initiatives: Develop and implement programs to minimize environmental impact, including waste reduction and pollution prevention.
  3. Auditing and Inspections: Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure regulatory compliance.
  4. Efficiency and Innovation: Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, renewable energy, and other sustainable practices.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote sustainability initiatives and engage employees in environmental stewardship.
  6. Health and Safety Policy Development: Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  7. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to mitigate workplace hazards.
  8. Employee Training and Development: Provide training to employees on health and safety practices and procedures.
  9. Incident Investigation and Resolution: Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  10. Regulatory Compliance and Record Keeping: Stay up-to-date on changes to environmental, sustainability, and health and safety regulations, and maintain records and documentation related to environmental permits, safety inspections, and training.Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: A degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field is required.
  • Work Experience: 2+ years of experience in environmental, sustainability, and health and safety roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data and metrics related to ES&HS performance.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • ISO 14001 Management Systems Experience: Experience with ISO 14001 management systems is a plus.
