Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Staff Grade Occupational Therapist to join our Children's Disability Network Team (CDNT) in Louth.

In this role, you will play a key part in assessing, planning, and delivering tailored occupational therapy interventions for children and young people with physical, sensory, and developmental disabilities.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care that supports each child's independence and enhances their participation in daily life.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate children's functional abilities in daily activities such as self-care, play, and school participation.
  2. Develop and deliver individualised, goal-oriented intervention plans based on each child's needs and family goals.
  3. Utilise evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support children in developing fine motor skills, gross motor coordination, sensory processing, and adaptive behaviours.
  4. Advise on and provide assistive devices, adaptive equipment, and environmental adaptations to enhance the child's independence.
  5. Deliver therapy in diverse settings, including clinics, schools, community spaces, and home environments.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  1. A recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  2. CORU registration or eligibility for registration.
  3. Demonstrated interest or experience in paediatric occupational therapy.
  4. Solid understanding of child development, sensory integration, and paediatric conditions.
  5. Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  7. Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.
  8. Previous experience working within Children's Disability Network Teams (CDNT) or similar paediatric services.
  9. Experience supporting children with a range of complex needs, including physical, sensory, and developmental disabilities.
  10. Knowledge and/or experience with sensory processing, assistive technology, and environmental adaptations.
  11. A full, clean driver's licence and access to a vehicle (may be required for community visits).
