This esteemed organization is seeking a highly skilled Senior Fund Accountant to join their dynamic and diverse team. As a key member, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of complex investment funds, including portfolio valuation and Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation.

Job Description

The Senior Fund Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of financial statements, liaising with investors and investment managers, and supporting systems development and other ad-hoc projects as required. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Review and understand the fund's offering memorandum and verify that it agrees with the fund set up and ensures ongoing operations adhere to its details.
2. Liaise with investment managers, prime brokers, and custodians in relation to trading activity as required for transaction processing and NAV preparation.
3. Calculate the NAV for a portfolio of complex investment funds on either a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis as specified by the client and outlined in the administration agreement.

Client Relationship Management

1. Liaise with clients, investors, investment managers, and other stakeholders as needed to ensure seamless communication and coordination.

Projects

1. Participate in special projects and assist with system development to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of fund administration processes.

Reporting

1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to provide stakeholders with accurate and timely information.

Audit

1. Liaise with the fund's auditors at year-end and interim periods to ensure sufficient information is provided for the timely completion of controls testing and substantive work to the auditors' satisfaction.
2. Complete audit confirmation requests as required.

Financial Statements

1. Assist in the preparation and review of fund audited financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
2. Understand fund agreements to determine their impact on financial reporting.

Compliance

1. Monitor and ensure that Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks are carried out in accordance with established procedures and legislation.
2. Respond to investor due diligence requests in a timely and professional manner.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess a university graduate degree with a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent). A minimum of 2 years of experience in fund accounting, with a focus on complex securities and derivatives products, is also essential. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, are critical for this position.
