Service Advisor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Service Advisor to join our team.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for customers contacting us for all aspects of motor service.

This is a full-time site-based role, five day working week with one Saturday (9am – 1pm) a month on rotation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Receive all incoming service calls and complete the booking procedure in full for each customer.
  2. Adhere to service department procedures for all bookings to ensure the smooth flow and efficiency of the workshop.
  3. Receive all incoming sales PDI's and ensure they are booked using the Auto View booking diary and liaise with the sales department for updates and completion times.
  4. Check for outstanding recalls on all vehicles at point of booking and receiving PDI's (Pre-delivery inspections).
  5. Retrieve all relevant information when making a booking and record using the correct methods on each job card.
  6. Plan out each customer's next mode of transport on booking, confirm bookings on internal systems and record on their Job Card.
  7. Ensure all internal systems are updated and monitored regularly to meet customer requirements, including correct recording on Dealer Car Manager, job cards, and scheduling to avoid overlap.
  8. Liaise with the parts and service advisors on all incoming work to ensure the efficiency and smooth running of the workshop through appropriate communications.
  9. Strive to meet targets in all areas at all times.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similar role in a busy main car dealership.
  • A well-rounded communicator and listener with excellent sales skills.
  • Computer proficient with the ability to build and maintain exceptional work relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Able to organise and administer various tasks throughout a day in a timely manner.
  • Willing to learn and expand knowledge and skills.
  • Committed, enthusiastic and energetic with drive and initiative.
  • A self-starter able to operate in a multi-task environment with deadlines and strive for best-in-class performance.
  • Familiarity with warranty processes.
  • Well-presented and well-spoken with a strong customer focus.
