Deputy Programme Editor TV News Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Deputy Programme Editor to shape the editorial direction of our bulletins and live coverage.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing editorial, production, and sub-editing support on TV News bulletins and during live coverage
  • Leading editorial decisions and editing bulletins and live coverage, as required
  • Initiating news content and developing graphic and production ideas for reports on news and programmes
  • Helping to produce and enhance output across all news platforms

Requirements:

  • Excellent editorial judgement, written, subbing, and scripting skills
  • Experience as a journalist capable of working under pressure to tight news deadlines
  • Strong visual skills to enhance the production values of news output
  • Good interpersonal and team skills
  • An in-depth knowledge of news and current affairs
  • The ability to develop constructive working relations with other disciplines
