Rail Engineering Leadership Role

Rail engineering is a dynamic field that requires a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic vision. As a Rail Engineering Manager, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of rail projects across Ireland and beyond.

This role involves leading multi-disciplinary rail engineering teams through all stages of design and delivery. You will provide technical oversight for rail systems, including track, signalling, electrification, and civil works. Additionally, you will manage a team of engineers and technical staff, providing mentorship and career development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Lead multi-disciplinary rail engineering teams through all stages of design and delivery.
  • Tech Oversight: Provide technical oversight for rail systems, including track, signalling, electrification, and civil works.
  • Staff Development: Manage a team of engineers and technical staff, providing mentorship and career development.
  • Clients Liaison: Liaise with public and private sector clients, including Irish Rail and global stakeholders.
  • Business Growth: Support business development through bid preparation, client engagement, and proposal writing.
Requirements:
  • Degree Requirement: Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Railway Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Professional Accreditation: Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent professional accreditation.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years' experience in rail engineering, including 3+ years in a management or leadership role.
  • Project Delivery: Proven track record delivering major rail infrastructure projects.
