Leadership Role for Rail Infrastructure

Civil & Structural Engineering, Transport Infrastructure. As a Senior Manager in Rail Engineering, you will be responsible for providing leadership and technical direction to rail projects across Ireland and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the management of multi-disciplinary rail engineering projects from design through delivery.
  • Ensure technical excellence across rail systems including track, signalling, electrification, and civil works.
  • Lead a team of engineers and technical staff, providing mentorship and career development opportunities.
  • Build relationships with public and private sector clients, including Irish Rail, NTA, and global stakeholders.
  • Support business growth through bid preparation, client engagement, and proposal writing.
  • Implement safety and quality standards in line with local and international regulations.
  • Develop and implement engineering best practices aligned with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with other discipline leads across transportation, environment, and planning departments.
Requirements:
  • Postgraduate degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Railway Engineering (or related field).
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent professional accreditation.
  • At least 10 years' experience in rail engineering, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering major rail infrastructure projects (preferably in Europe or the UK).
  • Strong knowledge of railway systems design, construction, and operational integration.
  • Experience working within consultancy or client-side organisations.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of sustainability standards in transport infrastructure.
  • Ability to work with digital delivery platforms and BIM tools.
