The Accounts Office Manager plays a pivotal role in driving business success through effective administration and financial management.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the accounts department team, ensuring financial ledgers are maintained and monthly accounting processes are followed.
  • Provide overall leadership and supervision to the entire office team, with a focus on productivity, systems efficiency, profitability, and quality control.
  • Control and monitor the correct use of technology and arrange regular audits to ensure compliance.
  • Liaise with Human Resources promptly, with open communication and integrity, to implement new financial and operational systems.
  • Coordinate escalation/identification of issues and advise Senior Management of potential/operational risks.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including Profit and Loss Accounts, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements.
  • Develop a suitable trained and responsible team, taking necessary action and advice to minimise the effect of customer complaints.

Main tasks of job: Oversee the accounts department team, ensuring financial ledgers are maintained and monthly accounting processes are followed. Provide overall leadership and supervision, with a hands on approach, to the entire office team. Responsible for the supervision of office employees, including the allocation of workloads, monitoring progress and performance, determining work priorities, paying particular attention to productivity, systems, efficiency, profitability and quality control through regular audits.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in finance and accounting, with 3+ years PQE in a management role.
  • Results-driven and commercially astute, with a revenue and profit-focused mindset.
  • Excellent IT skills and experience.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • A business acumen gained through work experience or a business degree.
  • Able to lead, manage, and develop others into a state of self-sufficiency.
