The Role
  • Plan, organize and manage the testing process on all test rigs to meet business objectives.
  • Operate test rigs and supporting equipment.
  • Configure, maintain and troubleshoot test rigs and equipment.
  • Coordinate, manage, present and communicate test plans. Recommend follow-up actions based on experience.
  • Analyze and present test data to drive product development.
  • Design and develop test rig software as required on all rigs.
  • Support new equipment development throughout the design process including scope requirements, technical specifications of components, CAD work and build/commissioning.
  • Manage test team activities, personnel and resources to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of company objectives.
  • Lead and motivate team members to meet deadlines. Support professional development of direct reports.
  • Support workshop, production and general lab management as needed.
  • Support Health Safety Security Environment (HSSE) initiatives in the organization. This includes attending meetings, completing actions in a timely manner and leading by example.
  • Support quality, tidiness and organization. Lead by example in promoting these values.
The Person
  • A highly driven and passionate individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Significant previous experience (5+ years) as Test Engineer Team Lead or Development Team Lead.
  • Excellent understanding of controls and instrumentation.
  • 10+ years relevant industrial experience in mechanical design of machines, systems, engines or similar.
  • Automotive and/or heavy engineering industry experience.
  • Preferably hydraulic systems design experience.
