Mechanical QA Lead Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical QA Lead to join our team. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with all mechanical quality requirements on piping installation projects.

This position involves close coordination with construction teams, welding crews, and third-party inspectors to ensure that all work is executed in accordance with project specifications, codes, and client requirements.

Responsibilities:
  1. Gather, verify, and maintain accurate weld logs from site crews on a daily/weekly basis.
  2. Transfer weld logs into Eida or other project database systems accurately and in a timely manner.
  3. Cross-check weld numbers, welders' details, and joint traceability against project weld maps and drawings.
  4. Manage and update redline/as-built drawings, ensuring all field changes are captured accurately.
  5. Coordinate with engineering teams to issue final as-built revisions in line with project handover requirements.
  6. Gather Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) reports from third-party inspectors.
  7. Review and verify NDT reports for completeness and compliance with project codes and specifications.
  8. Highlight and follow up on any non-conformances or repair welds required.
  9. Build and maintain Test Packs in line with project requirements.
  10. Ensure all inspection records, weld logs, NDT reports, and punch lists are included in the Test Pack.
  11. Support field teams in test execution, ensuring correct documentation of test results and sign-offs.
  12. Track and report progress of Test Pack status to the QA/QC Manager.
  13. Implement and monitor project quality procedures in accordance with company Quality Management System (QMS).
  14. Participate in internal and external audits as required.
  15. Liaise with client QA/QC representatives to address comments, close out issues, and submit final handover dossiers.
  16. Ensure all documentation is filed, maintained, and accessible for project close-out and future traceability.
Requirements:
  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years' experience in mechanical piping installation or process plant QA/QC.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, codes (ASME, EN, etc.), and NDT methods.
  • Experience with Eida or similar project management/document control systems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with hydrostatic and pneumatic test procedures and Test Pack compilation.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and shop drawings.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
