Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist Job Description

This role is a senior position within the EHS team, focused on ensuring compliance with statutory legislation and internal policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Coordinate environmental controls and ensure compliance with licenses.
  • Maintain accurate records and generate timely reports.
  • Liaise with external agencies, such as EPA, to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Manage site environmental waste management and drive continuous improvements.
  • Comply with Battery, WEEE and Waste Packaging Directives for Europe.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures.
  • Develop and update EHS procedures as required.
  • Design and deliver training programs on EHS best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or health & safety is required.
  • Postgraduate degree in Health & Safety is preferred.
  • Relevant industry experience and knowledge of regulatory environments are essential.
  • Proven experience in managing EHS teams and leading root cause investigations.
  • Strong scientific problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to translate vision into actionable strategies.
