Scientific Researcher Position in Analytical Chemistry
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Scientific Researcher to join their team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in liquid chromatography mass spectrometry and a solid understanding of protein chemistry.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate the root causes of unwanted sample preparation induced modifications on therapeutic proteins during standard workflows used prior to LC-MS based analytical methods.
- Develop mitigation and elimination strategies to avoid sample preparation induced modifications, delivering a robust solution that can be transferred into the routine testing environment.
- Collaborate with industrial sponsors to ensure that experiments are conducted, reported and disseminated according to the agreed project schedule.
- Participate in training and networking activities to grow and develop as a scientist, technically and professionally.
- Actively publish and present research outputs.
- PhD or submitted doctoral thesis in a discipline where the use and application of mass spectrometry instrumentation played a major component.
- Experience in liquid chromatography mass spectrometry, ideally for therapeutic protein and peptide characterisation.
- Solid understanding of protein chemistry and analytical rigour to understand key research challenges and develop appropriate solutions.
- Passionate communicator who can articulate science using written and verbal English to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
- Curious and ambitious, with a track record of proposing and performing excellent analytical science.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects and collaborate with industry experts. They will also receive comprehensive training and professional development opportunities.
