Job Description

The Head of Service Excellence and Patient Welfare will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and managing quality and patient safety strategies across the region. This role requires strong leadership and strategic skills, as well as extensive experience in healthcare, risk management, incident management, and investigations.

About the Position

This is a senior management position that involves leading the development, implementation, and management of quality and patient safety strategies. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering change in complex environments and managing multiple stakeholders. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, manage, and deliver quality and patient safety improvement strategies
- Ensure appropriate governance structures are in place to manage, monitor, and report on service quality and safety
- Contribute to the delivery of quality patient-centered services and support the achievement of service objectives
- Drive quality, safety, and service improvement strategies in planning, implementation, and performance of all regional services

Requirements

Candidates must have:

  • A relevant professional qualification in a health and social care profession or nursing, with statutory registration or professional registration/accreditation where applicable

  • Extensive experience at a senior management level in healthcare, involving risk management, incident management, and investigations

  • Proven ability to develop, manage, and deliver effective quality and patient safety improvement strategies

  • Record of delivering change in complex environments through strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Experience of managing and working collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders

  • Track record of successful, innovative, and strategic leadership and implementation

  • Requisite knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office
