Become a Functional Specialist

 

As a Functional Specialist, you will play a vital role in the assessment and evaluation of individuals with disabilities or health conditions. You will use your clinical knowledge and skills to conduct thorough assessments, compile accurate reports, and provide expert advice to support informed decision-making.

  • Conduct telephone assessments and face-to-face functional assessments of individuals with disabilities or health conditions.
  • Compile clear, concise, and factual medical reports.
  • Collaborate with regional managers and administrators to meet service level agreements.
  • Use IT systems to support clinical decision-making and report writing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of one year's post-registration experience as a nurse (RMN, RNLD, RGN), occupational therapist, physiotherapist, paramedic, or doctor.
  • Fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC, GMC), without restriction or conditions, and with a valid PIN.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • A professional, adaptable, and team-oriented mindset.
