
Electrical Infrastructure Technician

The role of a High-Voltage Electrical Specialist is to install, maintain and repair high-powered electrical lines and systems. They work on both transmission and distribution lines that originate from a power plant and extend to individual buildings or homes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Drive utility vehicles to work sites for quick and efficient access.
- Climb poles to service high-voltage power lines in an effort to prevent disruptions.
- Service transmission and distribution lines from power plants to buildings ensuring reliable electricity supply.
- Install new electrical equipment for power systems improving efficiency and performance.
- Repair aboveground and below-ground high-voltage power lines minimizing downtime.
- Maintain power lines through regular inspections to guarantee safety and reliability.
Key Qualifications:
- 2+ years' work experience as a High-Voltage Electrical Specialist or proven track record of working on overhead line works preferred.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel and work away at customer sites.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job including prolonged walking and standing.
- Available to work shifts, evenings, weekends and on short notice due to changing circumstances.
- Physically strong, agile and dexterous with good hand-eye coordination.
- Undeterred by heights and adverse climatic conditions.
- Must have an understanding of the English language and be able to communicate effectively.
- Reliable and flexible with the ability to use own initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to Health and Safety with zero tolerance for accidents.
- Optional knowledge of electricity consumption and power engineering principles.
