Job Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with a focus on consumer electronics engineering.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building applications and related software systems to support new FireTV OS Vega. You will engage with the API and other backend teams to gather and define specifications for client development.

You will also interface with the Amazon partner team on channel certification, bug fixes and compatibility with OS updates. Additionally, you will develop, maintain and review analytics systems to track the stability, reliability and performance of the FireTV channel and any required features and flows.

Other responsibilities include working with product management to understand and implement product requirements and user stories, participating in agile ceremonies including scrums, sprint planning sessions and sprint reviews.

You will document all technical design, code, build and release procedures, collaborate with Quality Engineering to ensure code coverage and troubleshoot client implementation problems as reported by listeners, the support team and other developers.

Upgrade and maintain client code as partner devices and platforms evolve, work with backend and infrastructure teams to implement new service features and represent the CE Engineering teams across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, relevant experience and 5+ years of software development with strong React Native experience. They will also have 1+ years of experience developing highly scalable React Native apps for TV, experience working with agile / scrum development methodologies and well-documented, well-tested software or other systems of considerable technical complexity.

Technical Skills
  • Experience with React Native, Typescript, Redux.
  • UI Development for several React Native Platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of React rendering engine.
  • Extensive knowledge with cloud computing platforms, like AWS.
  • Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins/Codeship/CircleCI).
  • Extensive knowledge of application development.
  • Understanding of multithreading, concurrency, design patterns and their impacts on application concurrency and scalability.
  • Experience and understanding of the agile development process.
