Job Title: Clinical Spec Speech and Language Therapist –Neuro

This position is an opportunity to take on a high-level role within the speech and language team, where you will be responsible for leading clinical practice and developing quality improvement initiatives.

We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist with a strong background in adult neurology, acute stroke and/or stroke rehabilitation patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and service development skills, as well as experience in dysphagia assessment and management.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Conduct advanced assessments, diagnoses, and specialist individual intervention programs for patients with complex communication and/or swallowing disorders post-stroke.
    • Provide specialist support and information in relation to communication and/or feeding, eating drinking and swallowing disorders etc...
    • Make highly specialist clinical decisions following assessment of complex cases.
    • Engage with professional bodies and academic institutions to further develop services as well as clinical excellence and research.
    • Develop quality improvement initiatives within the speech and language team.
    • Act as a clinical lead within the speech and language team, providing support, mentorship, and guidance to colleagues.
Requirements:

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • A recognised qualification as a Speech and Language Therapist with CORU registration or eligibility for same.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification clinical experience, with a strong background in the assessment and management of adult neurology, acute stroke and/or stroke rehabilitation patients.
  • Experience in dysphagia assessment and management and qualification same preferably.
  • Excellent leadership and service development skills.
